<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically select appropriate monitoring methods, in response to the kinds of variables and execution states of a program. <P>SOLUTION: When monitoring real-time monitor processings, in other words, execution state of a control program, if a user specifies a processing process desired to be monitored in the control program, an initial monitoring screen corresponding to the processing process is displayed, and after initiating the execution of the control program, the execution states at each processing are determined and the variables at run-time of the control program are read to be displayed on a monitor device 2.
