PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera constituted so that various operating states of the camera can be easily discriminated and having good visibility and design. SOLUTION: A luminous display part 23 constituted of the optional number of illuminators 22 (preferably, a plurality of illuminators) is arranged on a movable power source switch member 18 disposed on the front side of the camera main body 11, and the emission is controlled so as to attain different display states in accordance with the various operating states of the camera. For example, a control of lighting/flickering the illuminator 22 is performed in accordance with the remaining quantity of a battery and a charging situation, and the display part 23 has the following states; a state where the display part 23 is used as a battery indicator, a state where the lighting state is switched in accordance with a mode situation at the startup (when the power is supplied) and a state where the illuminator is used instead of a tally lamp at self-timer-photographing, and the display part 23 is used to display the operating state, and also, used to obtain illumination effects.
