PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further clean exhaust gas and improve an output, in an internal combustion engine of a cylinder fuel injection type in which fuel injection by a fuel injection valve 7 into a cylinder 2 is performed by a slit-like exhaust hole 12 to form a sector shape of expansion angleθin the view of the axial direction of the cylinder. SOLUTION: Intake ports 2 are disposed in right and left side parts of the fuel injection valve 7, and intake tumble flow A is added to the intake air of both intake ports. The ratio of injected fuel amount per unit length in the width direction of the sector to all fuel injection amount of the fuel injected from the exhaust hole of the fuel injection valve in the sector shape is set large at or near both ends of the sector shape in the width direction, or small in a part other than the part at or near both ends of the sector shape in the width direction.
