PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device which can display images with uniform density by eliminating the effect of crosstalk inevitably applied during display to the utmost. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display element 10 wherein a liquid crystal 21 showing a cholesteric phase having memory properties is interposed between a pair of substrates 11 and 12 provided with electrodes 13 are 14 and a control means 30 for matrix-driving the liquid crystal by applying prescribed voltage to the electrodes. The controlling means performs correction in compliance with the reduction quantity of reflectance due to crosstalk in every scanning line, when display of the liquid crystal is rewritten with a driving wave form having a reset period, a selection period and a retention period. The correction is performed by performing change of image data or alteration of a voltage value of a selection pulse. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
