PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical receptacle type light receiving module by using a resin-molded photodetector, instead of a conventional module in which light emitted from the end face of a fiber is converged by a lens and in which a photodetector is assembled by using a can type and adjusting the X, Y and Z axes. SOLUTION: In a part of the columnar face on the other end of a receptacle, a slot is provided at a position passing through the circular face center, while an elastic mold ring having an inner circumference slightly smaller than the outer circumference of the columnar face is force-fitted from the other end of the receptacle. A mold the photodetector which is molded with a transparent resin in a square or a similar shape, is applied against the end face of a ferrule and then bonded after the X and Y axes are adjusted in position. Subsequently, resin is charged from the other end of the mold ring. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
