PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a driving mechanism enabling appropriate handling of slip of a clutch disposed in series with a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission is disposed on the output side of a power source. The controller of the driving mechanism includes the continuously variable transmission in which the clutch for transmitting torque with frictional force is disposed in series with the continuously variable transmission. The controller comprises a slip detecting means for detecting slip of the clutch(step S2), and a slip factor determining means for determining whether the slip is caused by change of the torque of the power source or change of the torque on the output side of the clutch when the slip of the clutch is detected by the slip detecting means (steps S4, S5, and S6).
