PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an Al alloy sheet for automotive body having excellent strength and ductility. SOLUTION: When manufacturing the Al alloy sheet for automotive body, direct casting-rolling is carried out using a molten metal of Al-alloy composition consisting of, by weight, 3.00 to 3.50%; Mg, 0.20 to 0.60% Fe, 0.10 to 0.15% Si, 0.01 to 0.05% Ti, <0.05% Mn and the balance Al with inevitable impurities to prepare a plate stock. Then cold rolling is applied to the plate stock to prepare a cold rolled sheet. Subsequently, the cold rolled sheet is subjected to annealing treatment where temperature T and time t are set at 340 to 400°C and 9 to 11 h. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
