<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium alloy for a golf club face having excellent durability. <P>SOLUTION: A metal head with a cavity 1 has the face 2 where a plurality of recessed-groove-shaped scorelines 12 are formed. The face 2 is produced by subjecting aβ-titanium alloy composed of theβ-single phase and having 10 to 50% cold rolling draft to cold or warm pressing and providing a cold worked structure without performing solution treatment, and the hardness of the face 2 is made to Hv 357 to 450. By this method, the durability of the head 1 is improved and accordingly material thickness can be reduced. As the result, the size of the head 1 can be increased while suppressing total weight, and a wood golf club which is easy to handle can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
