<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform distribution while taking into account a traffic quantity in the asynchronous multicast distribution of digital contents by a common flow and an individual flow. <P>SOLUTION: When (h) is a distribution time of the common flow,λis an average generation rate of a distribution request andτis an occurrence rate of the common flow, a traffic quantityρrequired for distributing contents is expressed by the equality ofρ=τh+(λ-τ)2τ+λ/2τ-1/2. In this equality,ρbecomes a minimum value duringτ=(λ/2h)1/2. Namely, the average generation rate of the distribution request and the distribution time (h) of the common flow are acquired in a prescribed timing and the generation rateτ(distribution cycle 1/τ) of a common flow 20 is variably set by these average generation rateλand the distribution time (h) to fulfill the status of an expression (3) such that the traffic equalityρcan be minimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
