PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical device capable of realizing the facilitation of the adjustment of the angle of a reflection mirror and the improvement of reliability. SOLUTION: A mirror adjusting member 400 being a holding member for a surface reflection mirror 3 includes a fixed part 403, a transmission mechanism 404 having a fulcrum, an adjusting screw part 401 and a mirror abutting part 402. It is provided with the mirror abutting part 402 nearly in the center part of the mechanism 404, and provided with a plane including the screw part 401 on a side opposed to the end of the mechanism 404 so as to have a fixed angle to a plane including the mechanism 404. Thus, the mirror abutting part is indirectly moved through the mechanism 404 by the movement of an adjusting screw 411, so that the fine adjustment of the angle of the mirror 3 is facilitated.
