PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous input of an article into a rack, by only attaching additional simple and inexpensive parts, without the need for securing a special part-mounting space in the rack. SOLUTION: In this serpentine type article storage rack, a top guide 8c of a movable side plate is provided for limiting an article put-in passage to the length of the article, on a top tray 57 laid between right and left rack side plates 51, 51. A simple guard member such as a chain 10 and a rubber string is detachably bridged between the end of the top guide 8c and the left rack side plate facing the back face of the top guide 8c, and the guard member blocks off the front side of an idle space produced on the top tray 57 by the adjusted position of the top guide 8c, thereby preventing a short article from being erroneously put in on an idle space side.
