PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in resolution of a double system sensor accompanying commonly using an earth line. SOLUTION: This control system is equipped with a first APS 1, a second APS 2, whose output range is smaller than that of the first APS 1, a water temperature sensor 12, and an ECU 3, to which output signals from these sensors are inputted. In this system, the ECU 3 makes output signals of the first APS 1 and the second APS 2 to apparently the same output range with output ratio, and judges it as failure when the apparent difference between the output signals of the first APS 1 and the second APS 2 becomes more than a predetermined value. A first earth line 21 grounding the first APS 1 is installed independent from a second earth line 22 grounding the second APS 2, and the earth line of the water temperature sensor 12 is also used for the second earth line 22. Thereby, while costs are reduced by common usage of the earth line, it is possible to prevent deterioration of resolution of the first ASP 1 and the second ASP 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
