PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate point struck-type pile which causes only minor noise problems and ensures the bearing force thereof, and to provide a method for constructing the same. SOLUTION: The intermediate point struck-type pile comprises a hollow lower pile body 1 which forms a lower portion of a pile body, and a hollow upper pile body 3 which is arranged on an upper side of the lower pile body 1 and has a diameter larger than that of the lower pile body 1. The lower pile body 1 and the upper pile body 3 are connected to each other such that the interior of the lower pile body 1 communicate with the interior of the upper pile body 3 over the entire length of the pile, and that an upper edge of the lower pile body 1 can be struck from the interior of the upper pile body 3. Further, a joint portion between the lower pile body and the upper pile body is formed such that its peripheral surface is tapered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
