摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting position capable of detecting the position of a person or a mobile agent by using mobile communication systems installed indoors and outdoors, in which precision of the position detection is improved. SOLUTION: Three radio beacons are located in a zone within which communication with a base station can be established, and another radio beacon is located on the gravity center of the triangle. The level of the electric wave received from each radio beacon is detected by a detection device provided near a mobile station, and then the radio beacon from which the highest intensity electric wave is received and the beacon placed on the gravity center are specified as a first radio beacon and a second radio beacon, respectively. An area in which the electric wave from the first radio beacon is receivable, and another area in which the electric wave from the second radio beacon is receivable are specified as a first area and a second area, respectively. The crossover of the first and the second areas is specified as a third area, which is divided into a fourth and a fifth areas. Based on the magnitude relation of the levels of the electric waves received from the first and the second radio beacons, either the fourth or the fifth area is selected, and the position of the mobile station is detected based on the selected area.
