<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component and a variable resistor having a resin member composed of polyphenylene sulfide or liquid crystal polymer which is hardly softened in soldering at high temperatures, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The variable resistor is composed of a substrate 8, fixed side terminals 9, 10, a variable side terminal 11, a slide piece 12 and a resistor 13. The substrate 8 is composed of a PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) resin or a LCP (liquid crystal polymer) resin. The PPS resin substrate 8 or the LCP resin substrate 8 is subjected to heat treatment, the so-called 'annealing' before or after the resistor 13 is arranged. In the case of the PPS resin substrate 8, the annealing is performed at temperatures≥250°C and≤275°C. In the case of the LCP resin substrate 8, the annealing is performed at temperatures≥260°C, and≤340°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
