<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which has a phase transition type recording layer and has a good recording sensitivity, high density and high amplitude (high modulation) in correspondence to high-speed recording. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is formed by laminating a reflection layer 2, a first protective layer 3, the recording layer 4 and a second protective layer 5 in this order on a substrate 1, in which the second protective layer 5 consists of a mixture composed of ZnS and SiO<SB>2</SB>; the recording layer consists of Ge, Sb and Te as chief component elements; the reflection layer consists of Al alloy, an adhesive layer and a cover layer 6 are formed on the second protective layer 5, the first protective layer 3 consists of two layers; the mixture layer composed of the ZnS and SiO<SB>2</SB>and the AlN layer is formed on the reflection layer side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
