<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, etc., for writing data in an optical recording medium on conditions suitable for various kinds of optical recording media. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 1 acquires control data indicating the light strategy of the data writable optical recording medium such as a CD-R (compact disc-recordable) and a CD-RW (CD-rewritable) from the outside, and controls a laser beam irradiation part 4 and an access position control part 6, so that the data for recording is written in the optical recording medium according to the light strategy indicated by the control data.
