<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for alkaline secondary battery that improves gas absorption performance of a negative electrode and, in particular, has a good effect of suppressing the increase in the internal pressure of the battery at the overcharge when used for the alkaline secondary battery having high capacity and high output. <P>SOLUTION: This is a separator that is made of a micro porous film on which a hydrophilic part is formed and is housed in a battery clipped by a positive electrode and a negative electrode.
