PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data stream recording equipment or the like for securing sufficient protection of data. SOLUTION: A receiving unit 3 sends a data stream obtained by digital broadcast to a mother board 1, which divides TS packets contained in the data stream into two parts. One part is stored in an internal memory 33 for contents preservation, in the form of a packet collection file. Data for a label showing the earliest time out of data which shows each TOT (Time Offset Table) in the data stream is imparted to the packet collection file. The mother board 1 stores a substitution-finished data stream out of the data streams, in a storage 2 for the mother board. In the substitution-finished data stream, the TS packets stored in the internal memory 33 are substituted by dummy packets. In the case of reproduction, the dummy packets in the substitution- finished data stream are substituted by tinning-out object packets, thereby restoring an original data stream.
