PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more compact short-circuiting coaxial arrester. SOLUTION: The short-circuiting coaxial arrester is provided with an outer conductor 1 of a cylindrical shape with a hole part 3 on a peripheral wall part 25, an inner conductor inserted for retention into the inside the outer conductor 1 through an insulator 5, and a shorting member 6 with a bottomed cylinder shape covering the hole part 3 by being connected to an outer periphery face of the outer conductor 1. The hole part 3 is provided with a contact 7, in a coil shape passing all through it, with one end connected with the inner conductor 4 and the other with a bottom part of the shorting member 6.
