PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent-magnet type direct-current brush motor which is simply manufactured, precise, easy to assemble, and handy, allows saving of materials, and carries out a special function of significantly reducing the operating vibration and cogging torque of a motor. SOLUTION: The permanent-magnet, direct-current brush motor comprises a front cover, a rear cover, a stator, a rotor, and setscrews. The stator comprises a stator case and permanent magnets. The stator case is formed by superposing silicon steel pieces under pressure and integrally molding them and is provided inside the case with a number of housing holes. The permanent magnets are fit and secured in the housing holes. The gap between the stator and the rotor is adjusted and brought close to the periphery of the gap in terms of shape using silicon steel pieces. The gap is modified so that the gap is nonuniform. The distribution of magnetic fields in the gap between the stator and the rotor is made to be very close to the sine wave. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
