PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup apparatus capable of improving the wiring layout affecting a pixel size, attaining miniaturization of the unit pixel, and enhancing an aperture rate of a light receiving section. SOLUTION: Each unit pixel of the solid-state image pickup apparatus includes: a photo diode 1, a transfer transistor 2; an amplification transistor 3; a reset transistor 4; and a drive power supply 6. Further, the signal line includes: a transfer control line 8; a reset control line 9; a reset drain line 7; a common drain control line 10; and a common vertical (output) signal line 11. In the pixel structure as above, the transfer control line 8 and the reset control line 9 are placed in a horizontal direction (first direction) and the address control line 10 and the vertical signal line 11 are placed in a vertical direction (second direction). Thus, the number of lines per one pixel is two each in the lateral and longitudinal directions, and the pixel size can be reduced with the well-balanced wiring. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
