PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve condensing efficiency while suppressing the increase in out-of-focus image which is formed in an image formation optical system using a lens array. SOLUTION: A line image S which expresses a linear region L extending in the main scanning X direction on a stimulable phosphor sheet 1 is formed on the light receiving face 21 of a line sensor 20 so that the formed image becomes an unmagnified erect normal image in the main scanning X direction with a biaxial lens array 32 which has a refractive index distribution in the main scanning X direction and a certain refractive index in the direction perpendicular to the main scanning X direction, and with an image formation optical system 30 which is composed of a pair of aspherical cylindrical lenses 33 and 34 which are disposed on the incident side N and the image formation side K of the biaxial lens array 32 along the main scanning X direction and decrease a spherical aberration, and stimulating light generated from the region L by being irradiated with linear stimulating light with a exciting light irradiation means 10 for the region L is received on the light receiving face 21 through the image formation optical system 30.
