PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a ferrule that prevents cracking and chipping on a tubular body for the ferrule so as to simplify a force- fitting operation, that enables the tubular body to be fitted with sufficient holding force, and that reduces manufacturing cost to a great extent. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the ferrule 10 equipped with the tubular body 11 having a hole 13 for inserting an optical fiber and a flange member 12 having the interval diameter slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the tubular body 11 and a fitting hole 15 for engaging with one end of the tubular body 11; the one end of the tubular body 11 is engaged with the fitting hole 15 internally, with at least the flange member 12 heated at a prescribed temperature.
