<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To particularly provide control of enhanced haptic feedback effects of a vibration bodily sensation feedback device, in connection with a control technique for an interface device between man and computer. <P>SOLUTION: A control method for a haptic feedback interface device that is a method for controlling the vibration bodily sensation interface device from a host computer. The method comprises a step of determining a desired bodily sensation effect, outputted with the haptic feedback interface device on a user operating the haptic feedback interface device and a step of inputting information on vibration quantity and frequency that are independent respectively into the vibration haptic feedback interface device. The method, using a period control signal, based on the information, drives a rotary motor of the vibration haptic feedback interface device to rotate an inertial body in a direction and the rotation of the inertial body outputs, to the user, the vibration of desired vibration quantity and frequency that are a vibration quantity determined by a duty cycle of the control signal and a frequency determined by the frequency of the control signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
