摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device which efficiently cools the inside of the main body of an image forming apparatus and in which noise sensed by a user is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: Outside air taken into the copying machine main body (image forming apparatus main body) 10 from an intake port 57 by the operation of an intake fan 60 is introduced into a drum-like photoreceptor (image carrier) 11 from one end (rear side) of the photoreceptor 11 through the intake duct 59. The introduced outside air is passed through the interior of the photoreceptor and discharged from the other end (front side) thereof. At the other end, the outside air is U-turned via a U-turn duct 62 so that the direction is changed, then returned to the one end (rear side) of the photoreceptor via a duct 54 disposed between a cleaner (toner storage device) 15 and a fixing unit 17, and discharged out from an exhaust port 58 through an exhaust duct 61.
