PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease trouble caused by the vibration of an image forming apparatus on which a laser beam scanner is mounted. SOLUTION: In joining structure to fix a laser beam scanner 1 having a scanning optical system inside an optical box 10 on a supporting stay 2 by a machine screw 3, a spacer 4 whose diameter is smaller than the head part 3a of the machine screw 3 is put between the optical box 10 and the stay 2, whereby only a main contact area where the joining pressure of the machine screw 3 is generated is brought into contact between them and other parts are not brought into contact between them. Thus, vibration characteristics is made stable by fixing the stay 2 and the scanner 1 each other only at the part where the sufficient joining pressure is generated, and also chatter noise is prevented from being made by eliminating an unstable contact area where the sufficient joining pressure does not act.
