PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical pump which surely lubricates an underwater bearing 26 by the sufficient fluid not including foreign matters, even when the pump is used in pumping the wastewater including foreign matters. SOLUTION: An annular rotating member 40 is inserted and fixed to a pump shaft 22 positioned just above a discharge bowl 20, an annular fixing member 42 being opposite to a downwardly projecting conical face at a lower side of the annular rotating member 40 at a small clearance h, and having a downwardly recessed conical face on its upper side, is mounted and fixed to the discharge bowl 20, a pump channel 34 is communicated to one end part of the underwater bearing 26 through the clearance h, and the other end part of the underwater bearing 26 is communicated to a lower outer part of the discharge bowl 20. The clearance h is approximately orthogonal to the channel direction of a pump channel 34. An impeller 24 is provided with a communication hole 46 for communicating a lower suction-side channel 32 and an upper external part. An annular part 44 is formed on an upper outer peripheral edge of the impeller 24 in a state of being faced to an inner peripheral face of a lower outer peripheral edge of the discharge bowl 20 with a small clearance g.
