<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hierarchy division transmission system receiver capable of suppressing power consumption with a received band signal in the hierarchy division transmission system receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A band control circuit 117 for receiving a TMCC signal generated by a TMCC decoding circuit 116 generates a band control signal representing the band of a signal received by a tuner 101.
