CONTROL DEVICE FOR VARIABLE NOZZLE TURBOCHARGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a wrong opening at the time of starting an engine from being set as a reference opening for controlling the opening.

SOLUTION: An engine electronic control unit (engine ECU) 46 calculates an opening instruct value corresponding to a target opening of a nozzle vane 29. When electricity supply from a battery 15 starts for starting the engine, the nozzle opening of the nozzle vane 29 detected by a nozzle opening sensor 52 is calculated as a primary value of the opening instruct value. A turbo controller 51 sets the nozzle opening due to the nozzle opening sensor 52 at the time of starting the electric supply as a reference opening, and a DC motor 34 is controlled according to the opening instruct value so that the nozzle opening becomes the target value based on the reference opening. The engine ECU 46 estimates a condition that the reference opening can be reset in the turbo controller 51 after starting the electric supply, and holds the primary value as the opening instruct value during estimation.
