PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording tape cartridge which can make small a step that a recording tape has when the recording tape is taken up by a reel hub of a drive device. SOLUTION: In the recording tape cartridge, a tape-shaped leader tape 22 connected to the tip of a magnetic tape 14 constitutes a leader part 20 together with key members 24 fixed to both width-directional end parts respectively. In the leader part 20, when the magnetic tape 14 is taken up by the reel hub 32 of the drive device, a leader tape 22 is put in a slit 38 of the reel hub 32 over the overall length and tape holding parts 24A of the key members 24 are locked in a key groove 40 of the reel hub 32. Consequently, the opening width of the slit 38 on the outer circumferential surface 32A of the reel hub 32 is extremely small and the step that the magnetic tape 14 taken up by the reel hub 32 has is extremely small.
