The proposed method for fast forming accumulator batteries by increased current consists in filling the batteries with electrolyte, installing the batteries in a vessel with cooling liquid, and forming the batteries by direct and pulse current. The forming process is divided into five stages. At the first stage, current of 2 ... 3 % of the battery rated charging current is passed through the batteries, for 10 ... 60 minutes, in the direction that is opposite to the normal direction of the battery charging current. At the second stage, current of 2 ... 3 % of the battery rated charging current is passed through the batteries, for 10 ... 60 minutes, in the normal direction. At the third stage, pulse alternating current is passed with the length of the charging pulses of 100 ... 300 s, the length of the discharging pulses of 10 ... 20 s, and the amplitude of the charging pulses increased to 30 ... 70 % of the rated current. At the fourth stage, pulse current is passed with the same pulse length as at the third stage, with the constant amplitude of the charging pulses of 30 ... 70 % of the rated current. At the fifth stage, pulse current is passed with the same pulse length as at the third stage, with the amplitude of the charging pulses decreased to 15 ... 40 % of the rated current. |
