<p>An optical recording medium preferable to high speed recording. The optical recording medium comprises a recording layer made of a phase-changing material and enabling data recording at a linear velocity of 10 m/section or more. The reflectance Rtop of the phase-changing material in a crystallized state and the target recording linear velocity V (m/sec) satisfy the following condition. 11 - (V/5) < Rtop < 22 - (2V/5) This ensures 50% or more of modulation degree (MOD), and hence the degradation of jitter caused when data is recorded at a high linear velocity of 10 m/section or more can be effectively suppressed.</p> |
