AUTO-PC USING ROTARY ENCODER AND METHOD FOR INPUTTING LETTERS OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: An auto-PC using a rotary encoder and a method for inputting letters inputting of the same are provided to enable a user to easily input the letters such as Korean, English, and a special key by using a volume control rotary encoder installed to a faceplate of a telematics terminal. CONSTITUTION: A rotary encoder letter inputting tool(100) outputs a key selection signal corresponding to the letter input signal and a function button selection signal. A key scan logic(200) activates a scan logic matrix corresponding to the key selection signal. A car interface microcomputer(300) analyzes the activated key selection signal and converts the signal into a format capable of linking with a main board. A CPU(400) outputs a control signal by receiving the letter input signal and the function button selection signal. A memory(500) stores various kinds of application programs. The first FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)(600) interfaces the control signal with a PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) device. A video controller(700) outputs an input letters display control signal. An LCD(800) displays the inputted letters.
