A filter is for cleaning of leakage and waste water, and contains a mixture of peat, unslaked lime, sand and carbon ash. The mixture is in the following proportions: 50-90% peat, 10-25% carbon ash, 2-25% sand and 2-25% unslaked lime. Other percentages are possible with increases and decreases in the various components, without adverse effect on the efficiency of the filter. - The filter depth is between approximately 30 cm and approximately 2 meters. The peat used has a humidification extent of 1-10. The carbon ash is unburnt. The water is continuously or intermittently fed and diffused over the filter and a pollutant mask is applied to the filter to prevent its blockage. |
