DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ERROR OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A display device and a method for detecting an error of the same are provided to output an error detection signal to a system by detecting an error from the display device if a same video signal is continuously output from a video card of a main body. CONSTITUTION: A video processor(5) receives the video signal provided from the video card(3) and converts the video signal into a digital video signal. A synchronizing signal processor(7) synchronizes a horizontal and a vertical synchronizing signal. A microcomputer(9) distinguishes a resolution by the horizontal/vertical synchronizing signal, and displays the digital video signal fit to the resolution. A power supply(11) supplies the power to each processor according to a control signal of the microcomputer(9). An OSD(On Screen Display) control button(13) adjusts the brightness and the contrast of a screen. An error detector(15) outputs the error signal according to a change of the video data by periodically storing the video data in a frame unit.
