The invention relates to an arrangement with a peripheral unit connected to a central unit by means of a twin-core line, whereby the peripheral unit communicates by means of the twin-core line and is provided with energy by means of the twin-core line. A signal which may alter within a given signal level range is transmitted for communication. According to the invention, events happening outside the peripheral unit, in particular error events, may be reported to the central unit, whereby a separate reporting device (7), comprising a switch (8) which may be activated by the event and which alters the signal level range in the twin-core line (2) and a detector unit (5, 12) for detection of a change in the signal level range are connected to the twin-core cable (2). |
