PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to prevent generation of harmful bacteria from laundry dregs by giving a sterilizing function to a foreign material-filtering device. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine has a water tub for housing washing water; a dehydrating tub rotatably disposed inside the water tub; a pulsator disposed to the lower part of the dehydrating tub; and a foreign material-filtering device(30) installed to the inner wall of the dehydrating tub. The foreign material-filtering device comprises a washing water current guide duct(31) attached to the inner wall of the dehydrating tub, to guide the washing water current produced from the pulsator to the upper part of the dehydrating tub, and a filter member(32) mounted to the washing water current guide duct, to filter foreign materials. Dreg-filtering nets made of copper are attached to the filter member. The filter member comprises a front filter portion(33) and a rear filter portion(34). The dreg-filtering nets are attached to the front filter portion and to the rear filter portion. |
