PURPOSE: Provided is a preparation method of spherical and nano sized Al2O3 powder with high purity, homogeneity and low temperature synthesis by sol-gel process. CONSTITUTION: The high purity Al2O3 powder is prepared by the following steps of: mixing Al(OC4H9)3 dissolved in isopropyl alcohol and water in a molar ratio of 1:100; stirring at 80deg.C at a rate of 1000rpm/min.; adding 0.07M of HCl; gelling the obtained sol by drying at 50deg.C under vacuum; thermal treating at 1200deg.C. The resultant Al2O3 powder has high purity more than 99.99% and 20-50nm of size. |
