A method and system for multiplexing a plurality of calls (135a, 135b, 135c, 135d, 135e) to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) for transmission in a plurality of timeslots (145a, 145b, 145c) by combining the calls in assigned timelots. The timslots may be assigned dynamically or statically. For example, calls (135a) and (135b) are combined such that call (135a) and a percentage of call (135b) are assigned timeslot (145a). The remainder of call (135b) is combined wiht call (135c) in the next assigned timeslot (145b). In this way n calls are combined (wherein n is a positive integer or fraction) to make efficient use of the circuit-switched connection of a PSTN Transit Network.
