An information processing apparatus and method capable of suppressing disorder caused when reproducing a seam of stream data picked up with a seam. A DTS of a TS stream is generated by adding a counter value of one frame by an adder (57). A PTS performs processing according to the type of the pictures. That is, according to the DTS, a PTS adds a counter value of three frames to the DTS for I and P pictures and generates a DTS as a PTS for the B picture. According to the number of pictures between the PCR immediately before and the current PCR detected, a PCR is generated by the adder (57) as a value added by a value of the number of pictures multiplied by 3003. A data replacement unit (72) replaces the previous DTS, PTS, and PCR by the DTS, PTS, and PCR generated and outputs them. |
