PURPOSE: Provided is a coolant composition which has both high cooling and sterilizing abilities, and is easy to use, and which can exhibit numerous effects not capable of being accomplished by existing gas-cooling process. CONSTITUTION: The coolant composition is produced by blending an aqueous ethyl alcohol solution having a low freezing point and high sterilizing ability with at least one of sodium chloride, cyclodextrin syrup as natural sugar, maltitol syrup as synthetic sugar, and glycerin as synthetic food additive. The coolant composition is used by injecting the blend into liquid freezer to freeze the blend, and then immersing the object into the frozen blend. |
