A honeycomb structure integratedly comprising an outside wall (8), a partition wall (2) placed inside the outside wall (8), and honeycomb segments (12) divided by the partition wall (2) and having a large number of communicating holes (3) axially penetrating through the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure (1) is characterized in that, in a cross section perpendicular to the X-axis direction of the honeycomb structure (1), the structure includes a honeycomb segment (12) in which the angle (a) and/or (b) of the partition wall (2) with respect to a straight line (9) along the outermost point of an outside wall (8a) adjacent to another honeycomb segment is in a range between 25 and 65 degrees. The honeycomb structure is used for filters for collecting particles in exhaust gases from internal combustion engines, boilers, etc. and for other purposes. Further, the structure includes the honeycomb segments having excellent resistance to cracks caused by heat stress. |
