PURPOSE: An information storage medium where mode display information is recorded, an apparatus and a method for playing the same are provided to expand AV pictures through a full screen mode even in an interactive mode with displaying information related to the current display mode. CONSTITUTION: AV data includes audio data and video data. A markup language document has a display window outputting AV pictures(c) to regenerate the AV pictures based on the AV data in an interactive mode. In the case that the AV pictures are displayable in a plurality of modes, mode display information(f) is provided to display information related to a mode which is currently being displayed.
