PURPOSE: A chair to be compressed in a transverse direction is provided to minimize a space required for the storage of plural chairs as well as maximize the convenience of conveyance by allowing the chairs to be simultaneously compressed in the transverse direction. CONSTITUTION: In at least two chairs configured so as to be continuously connected to each other in a transverse direction, the chairs are adapted to be folded by the use of a folding/unfolding device. The chair includes a foldable frame consisting of two legs(43), horizontal members(42) connecting the two legs, and posts. If necessary, a desk unit(41) and an arm rest may be added to the chair.
