PURPOSE: A method for controlling playback of a digital media equipment is provided to prevent discontinuous pictures generated by the difference between a pause point and a playback point when the digital media equipment connected with a digital video equipment resumes playback after pausing. CONSTITUTION: If a pause command key is inputted to a digital media equipment when the digital media equipment is being played back, the digital media equipment pauses the playback while storing time information of a point when the digital media equipment receives the pause command key. It is judged whether a playback command key is inputted to the digital media equipment in the pause state. If so, it is confirmed whether time information of a point when the digital media equipment executes the playback is consistent with the stored time information. If so, pictures and voice are reproduced.
