PURPOSE: A method for giving a password of an image file is provided to decompress a compressed image document containing a password only if a user knows the password. CONSTITUTION: An image file stored as a predetermined image format is selected(101). A password applied to the image document is inputted(102). The password is inserted into a position of the image file(103). The image file including the password is compressed in a constant format(104). The compressed image data is converted into the desired image format(105).
