The machining appliance (10) comprises a shavings discharge hood (11) extending as far as the cutting edges of the implement (12) and positioned to one side of the implement which is rotarily driven by a drive mechanism. On the other side , a conveyor or support transports the workpieces. Back-tapered cutter-plates (13) supported by holders (17) have shavings-compartments between them which are closed on the side facing the conveyor.
