A measurement ring (1) intervenes between thrust- (6) and bearing rings (8). Diametrically-opposed sensors (2) on the circumference of the measurement ring (1) are located between radially-spaced, axial projections (7, 7') of the thrust ring (6). These projections lie opposite axial projections (9) on the bearing ring (8). On application of axial force, the measurement ring is deformed between the radially-spaced projections (7, 7').
