The inventive image display device comprises a carrier for elements of the displayed image which has a specified shape. Said elements of the displayed image are painted with specified colours on the carrier for elements of the displayed image. The paint colours are selected with respect to lighting devices which are installed from the inner side of the displayed image, thereby obtaining a maximum visual and decorative effect
